Fencing in the Memphis area
Wood privacy, chain link and ornamental fence installation and repair.
Most fence calls are a new backyard privacy fence, a replacement for an old fence that is leaning or rotting, or a repair after a storm.
Group 1 marks utilities before digging, sets posts in concrete, and confirms property lines, permits and HOA approval before any material is ordered.

What's different here
In Memphis and unincorporated Shelby County, fences over 6 feet generally need a building permit from the Office of Construction Code Enforcement, and front-yard fences are held to lower heights by zoning. Germantown, Collierville, Bartlett and the DeSoto County cities have their own rules, and many HOAs restrict style and color.
Wood fences gray and split quickly in strong sun and humidity. Staining every few years, which our painting crews handle, extends their life considerably.

Fencing: common questions
How long does a wood fence last here?
Pressure-treated pine commonly lasts 10 to 15 years, longer with regular staining. Posts in wet soil fail first.
