Where we work

Memphis and the surrounding cities in Shelby County, Tennessee, and DeSoto County, Mississippi.

Tennessee

Memphis, Germantown, Collierville, Bartlett, Cordova, Lakeland, Arlington.

Shelby County is one of the Tennessee counties covered by the state Home Improvement law: residential jobs over $3,000 and under $25,000 require a Home Improvement license, and jobs of $25,000 and up require a full contractor license. Ask to see the license number before you sign.

Mississippi

Southaven, Olive Branch.

Mississippi has no separate painter license. Residential remodeling work valued at $10,000 or more falls under the State Board of Contractors residential license, so ask about licensing on larger jobs and always ask for proof of insurance.

Rules worth checking before work starts

  • Collierville has a Historic District Commission that reviews exterior changes near the Town Square.
  • In Memphis and unincorporated Shelby County, fences over 6 feet need a permit.
  • Many newer neighborhoods have HOA rules on colors, fences and concrete. Get approval in writing before materials are ordered.
  • Homes built before 1978 may have lead paint. Any job that disturbs old paint has to follow EPA lead-safe practices.
