Cabinet painting in the Memphis area
Kitchen and bath cabinets refinished for a fraction of replacement cost.
Painting cabinets is one of the most noticeable updates for the money, but it is also the job most likely to go wrong when rushed. Doors and drawers should come off, be degreased, sanded and primed with a bonding primer, then finished with a hard cabinet-grade enamel, often sprayed.
Expect your kitchen to be out of commission for several days. Good painters label every door and hinge so everything goes back exactly where it came from.
What our estimate includes
- Doors and drawer fronts removed and labeled
- Degreasing and sanding
- Bonding primer
- Cabinet-grade enamel finish
- Hardware reinstalled (new hardware if supplied)

Cabinet painting: common questions
Will painted cabinets chip?
Properly prepped cabinets with a bonding primer and enamel topcoat hold up well. Chipping usually means the prep was skipped.
Can stained wood cabinets be painted?
Yes. Oak and other open-grain woods can show grain through paint unless the painter uses a grain filler; ask which finish you will get.
